TRENDnet SecurView PoE Dome Internet Surveillance Camera TV-IP252P

The SecurView PoE Dome Internet Camera (model TV-IP252P) is designed for indoor enterprise class security surveillance applications. View and manage the tamper resistant dome IP camera from any Internet connection. Manually pan the camera side-to-side 350 degrees and tilt it up-and-down 160 degrees to fix its final viewing angle. No need to install this camera near a power source, power and data are received through a single Ethernet cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. Manage up to 16 TRENDnet cameras with the included complimentary camera management software. Advanced features include motion detection recording with two motion detection windows, email alerts (Windows 32-bit only. Monitoring multiple cameras may require a high performance CPU and graphics card), scheduled recording sessions, Samba client saves video to network storage devices, dual streaming MPEG-4/MJPEG image compression, two-way audio support (mic and speaker sold separately), Input/Output ports, digital zoom and an analog BNC video-out connector. A wall/ceiling mounting kit is included and the off-white IP camera housing blends into most environments. I bought this and actually installed it outdoors but under a roof. Works great and the GPIO inputs also work great. I hooked it up to an ELK doorbell detector so it emails me 3 pictures of someone ringing my doorbell. I also have it continuously recording to a nas device and its held up for a year and a half with no issues. It has held up to 0 deg F to 100 deg F. The only issue I once had was that when it was disconnected for a few minutes and then plugged back in the camera itself didn’t operate. I left it unplugged for a while and it started working. It uses about 4 watts of POE power.

Camera works better than expected once installed but had to RMA it twice before I got one that worked.
We import the stills from the camera into a video software so we can watch a day of activity in just minutes.

I ran one cable back to network switch, POE (stands for power over ethernet) assigned an IP address then I could view the camera from any computer, great picture, no sound but they have models with sound, now all I need is 10 more.
A very simple solution if you need a surveillance camera.
