Unlike other wireless intercoms with range claims measured in feet, this MURS
Multi-Mile Base Wireless Intercom has a range measured in miles! You can
use this for both business or personal use and it does not require an FCC
license. There is no limit to the number of these units that can be used
together. The intercom comes with a removable antenna so you could extend range
even farther by attaching a cable to an antenna that you mount up higher (up to
60 feet is still legal).
– Only one unit is included. You must purchase or own another
MURS handheld or
base station radio to use with this.
– Transmission power output: 1.65 Watts
– Fully expandable to an unlimited number of intercom stations. Add
additional intercoms as needs change.
– Monitor button is used to monitor conversations on sub-channels to see if
there are any conversations before you transmit. (This feature does not work
like a baby monitor and cannot be used to continuously monitor an area around
the intercom. The FCC does not allow continuous transmit in this frequency.).
– Turning on Lock capability keeps others from changing channels and other
features.
– Unit has five channels with 38 sub-channels.
– Earphone jack for private listening.
– Base station can also receive a signal from the MURS Alert Multi-Mile
Motion Detector that can be easily set up in nearly any location to monitor and
notify when someone has entered a monitored area.
– Normally open relay connections on the back of the base unit for use with
the MURS Alert system.
– Will communicate up to 4 miles in open
topography. Expect your range to be less in buildings, with electrical
interference, or with obstructions in the way.
– No FCC license required for operation.
– One year warranty from the date of purchase.
– Unit not wall mountable
Best MURS base you can buy thats fully legal,
At least to my knowledge. With only a wire Jpole antenna ( Thats inside) I have spoken to friends over seven miles away clearly!
Now Remember I am higher then they are, Much higher. I ordered a 5/8’s wave antenna for the roof. This should give me much greater range . I love these simple to use transmitters and plan on buying two HT’s when I have the extra cash. Even my 3 year old neice has figured out how to answer me when away from home. So I am betting the wife can also 🙂

Great Product,
My wife uses this product to communicate with her mother who is a diabetic.
Her mothers house is about 350 feet from our house and the communication is
clear as a bell without any interference.
Just remember both units have to be on the same channel and mode and would suggest
using a surge protector if used in an older house.
I had to send back one of the units but customer service was really good
and a replacement was sent in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely
recommend this product.
We have been using this product for nearly a year and have not had any trouble
with the two units.

These really work well, BUT!,
The intercom works great and the intercom units also work great with the long range Dakota Alert that I bought for my driveway.
I was so impressed that I also purchased an extra alert transmitter to work in conjunction with the three intercom units I now have.
GUESS WHAT?
The shorter range alert transmitters look the same but don’t operate on the MURS Channels.
So I now have an alert transmitter that transmits on UHF while all of my intercom units and my existing long range alert transmitter work on VHF channels.
What is even more confusing is that the Amazon adds refer to both sensors as WMT3000 transmitter units and tells you that you can add any number of transmitters and receivers to your system. This is only true if the
Description says “MURS”.
It’s unfortunate but the operating channels and any other meaningful specifications seem to be omitted for these types of products on the Amazon pages.
Otherwise, Great units but be careful when you are building your system.
