   The input preamplifier stages were not working properly and activated the barking sound output continuosly. This is the second unit I’ve had with the same problem. Something is unstable in the early stages of the circuit. Since I’m using a relay to trigger the barking sound downstream from the sensitive preamp input, I was able to pull the operational amp IC and transistor and use the circuit without them. Now it works fine.
